Simon Taylor is a singer-songwriter from Newcastle upon Tyne. His music combines elements of Latin, funk and rock with influences ranging from Serge Gainsbourg to Leonard Cohen. Simon's music has featured regularly on BBC Introducing as well as Spanish and American radio. A track from his 2022 mental health-themed e.p "Survival", "Bad Times Are Through", reached the Semi-Finals of the 2021 UK Songwriting Contest. On hearing this e.p on Bandcamp the British Library Sound Archive asked Simon to send over his back catalogue thus far for storage in the archive. Simon has just released a new e.p, "Karma", that was recorded at Blank Studios in Newcastle by producer Lisa Murphy and features some of the finest local jazz and pop musicians.
