WRITING OPPORTUNITIES
Disability History: Past, Present, Future - Writer call out
Alphabetti is inviting writers to propose a new piece of theatre inspired by Life Stories of Infrastructure (LSoI), a research project led by Northumbria University. This commission is about taking something that began in engineering, history and social science, and turning it into a live encounter with an audience.
Brass tacks:
30 minute piece, commission fee of £3,644, public audience performance early 2027.
This opportunity is open to writers at any stage and are excited by research led theatre. We particularly welcome applications from the North East who are currently underrepresented in the theatre sector.
Applications are open now and close 5pm 19th October 2026
Our regular writing group is continuing for the latter half of this year too, check out our what's on page to see when the next one is.
We are currently overhauling our artist development programme. Please keep an eye out here/on our socials/via our newsletter for more info.
