Exploring themes of burn-out, loneliness and self-worth Conked Out is a high-octane clown show born out of Joseph’s own struggles and experiences with mental health and the care system. The show was developed at École Phillipe Gaulier and The Northern School of Art.
Follow Conkers, the brand new janitor of Conkcola and his brand new behavioural readjustment intelligence android and neurotherapist also known as B.R.I.A.N as they progress from an entry-level position to the CEO.
About Joseph Casling:
Originating from Teesside in the North East of England; Joseph attended the Northern School of Art where he graduated with First Class Honours and amassed skills on performing on stage, on screen and mastered the art of clowning.
In 2021, Joseph joined National Youth Theatre, where he furthered his practice. Whilst there, he continued working as a professional performer whilst gaining his Master’s degree in Theatre Making as well as attending École Phillipe Gaulier in 2025.
