The concept is a mad hatched plan from one of the writers Richard Stockwell and Alphabetti’s own Ali Pritchard. The aim is to for the three writers to write a brand new play in front of the audience - there will be a type writer, a computer and quill. The writers will hand each line, stage direction and anything else they fancy to the actor for them to act out in front of your eyes! They’ll each have to react to what the other writes… anything really could happen!

The brave writers:

Gary Kitching
Gary Kitching is an actor and writer. He's been a performer for 20 years working in theatre, tv and film. In 2014 Gary started his own theatre company - Gary Kitching & Co. Which has now produced two fantastic productions: Dead To Me (2014) & Me & Mr C(2015) both went on small national tours and received praise from audience and critic alike.

Richard Stockwell
Richard has been a scriptwriter since about 1998 when his first play Killing Time was performed at Theatre Royal Windsor. He has written at least a dozen plays as well as spending two years on Eastenders and writing several screenplays. He now teaches scriptwriting at Northumbria University where he set up the Drama and Scriptwriting programme in 2005. Richard's most recent production was The Prize at Live Theatre and the Edinburgh Festival in 2012. Continuum - received its staged reading at Live Theatre on 1st May 2014. He wrote and performed Based on a True Story, an autobiographical performance piece in November 2013 which showcased at The Arc Stockton Scratch night.

Louise Taylor
Louise is Design manager, playwright, baker, one quarter of Meerkat Theatre Company and part of Arc Stockton’s writing initiative group The Writer’s ARCADE. The Frights was produced by Alphabetti as their first production in their new theatre and was Louise’s first full length professionally produced production. Her other credits include Skirt (Alphabetti Theatre / Upstairs at Dog & Parrot / Lee Rosher – 2013), Torte (Meerkat TC / Arc) & Preservation (Writer’s ARCADE / Arc).
