Diji Solankescratch2

A conversation between artist and audience. Let's have a chat. Let's be silly for a bit. I've got a few things I want to talk about and you, my audience, can help. I've got some music to play that you might like. Some dialogue, some music...sound good?

About Diji

Hey, I'm Diji. I'm a 24 year-old performing artist. I play the guitar and I sing. I also play the drums and I know some convincing piano chords.

My style is quite mellow at the minute because, as cliche as it sounds, I'm still finding my sound. I'll probably always be trying to find my sound, tbh (it means 'to be honest', for any old folkies).

What's my craic? Why do I do what I do? What am I trying to achieve? I'm trying to make music that leaves room for your mind to breathe. I love it when a piece of art accidentally quitens my most hectic thoughts for a moment. All I'm trying to do is that. But, for others. But, like, while having loads of fun at the same time. Yeah, that sounds like a good bit of info to know about if you're about to decide whether or not to bother watching me.

Diji is an associate artist with Alphabetti having performed many a time in all our venues.

hannah 6Hannah Thompson presents - LAST ROUND ; "Sheila the Shovel" vs "....."

Sheila has always had a big dream. To be the best female wrestling champion of. the. world.
Shelia will beat ANY opponent that DARES to cross her path. Using high quality clownrbatics, unbeatable comedy timing and a looks to kill "SHEILA THE SHOVEL" will take on a mystery guest and fight to the last bell!!!

This is rough work in progress, performing some material I have researched for my one-woman street show based on female wrestling.

About Hannah

Hannah Thompson is a circus performer who explores ways to integrate her physical skills with narrative theatre. She is passionate about making circus theatre which is provocative and thought provoking.  Since leaving circus school in 2018 Hannah has founded her own company CIRC Motif and produces high quality random circus Confetti Cabarets. She was born and raised in a small mining town in County Durham, North East England called Tow Law. Not quite a real geordie but close enough to say such things like "It's ower wet te clag" meaning it's too wet to stick and "ya canne wack a cuppa scad." which translates to "You can't beat a good cup of tea."

She trained at Circomedia, a contemporary circus and physical theatre school in Bristol.

Hannah had a work in progress performance at Alphabetti of her new show - The Art Of Cuddling and Other Things in 2018.
