Alphabetti challenge you - funny guys, gals and gender non-conforming individuals to take those chuckles, giggles, sniggers and snorts and make them roar in the ring! On 12th & 13th December 2018 prepare for the spar on the boulevard!

20 sketches will battle each another with one winner becoming the undisputed heavy weight sketch of the north east! Directed by Alphabetti's award winning Artistic Director, Ali Pritchard.

A Christmas Visitor - Ken Brady

Coded - Donald Jenkins

Worst Job Interview Ever - Brian Lonsdale

One World - Elaine Robertson

Suicide Mission - John Scott

On the Death of Judas - Danny Stones

Privilege - Ian Waugh

Afterlife - Chris Wilkins

Wired - Kevin WIlkinson

The process

- Ali and his team will read all applications and compile a shortlist of 40 sketches.

- All shortlisted writers will vote on their favourite 20 sketches (depending on their length).

- The sketches will be rehearsed.

- 10 sketches will be performed each night - the order of which will be decided by the audience on the night. The audience will vote for their favourite sketch of the evening via a cheer-o-meter.

- On the final performance one sketch will be crowned the ultimate winner!

The prizes!

- The winning sketch will get professionally filmed and produced and released online. The writer(s) will be receive a link to the sketch and hi-res copy. If there is any budget left over this will be re-invested into Alphabetti Theatre as a registered charity.

- There are no cash prizes.

- All shortlisted writers will receive 1 free ticket to both performances. These are non-transferable and non-refundable.

- The writer/writers of the winning sketch will receive a heavyweight North East Sketch Winner belt.
