Entrenched around Rachael Whittle’s swaggering, off-kilter rock compositions, Pave The Jungle formed in Newcastle in 2019.

Touring extensively in support of 2 EP's and multiple singles, the band spent 2023 at work on new music. On April 13th, they'll showcase some of this at Alphabetti Theatre.

Support on the night comes from local psych stalwarts Cheap Lunch and the noise rock stylings of Zilch Patrol.

Tickets are priced in three tiers:

£3 (no questions)

£5 (concessions)

£10 (general admission)

“You wouldn’t need to know that Pave The Jungle's frontwoman Rachael Whittle once took part in a mentorship programme with Nadine Shah to connect the dots between the North East musicians; much like her neighbour, Rachael uses the full range of her vocal, her own deep boom echoing the darkness behind her band’s 90s indebted rock… A pop sensibility under the layers of expansive guitar - think The Big Moon going through a Siouxsie phase - and best of all, it’s loud.” - DIY MAGAZINE

“What remains ever-present is the band’s alt. rock mastery; Waiting For Nothing is heavier, angrier and sounds like a band completely at home with their sound… Rachael’s extraordinary voice has a melodic depth; her powerful vocals are almost baritone, loaded with menace, guttural yet carefully controlled… Waiting For Nothing will undoubtedly be the release that sees Pave The Jungle step up their profile, both in the region and beyond.” – NARC MAGAZINE

“As debut EPs go, particularly for a band less than two years old, ‘The Hissing’ is stunning. From the distinctive nature of Whittle’s voice and songwriting, to the technical precision of the musicianship, the skies are the limit. It’s the perfect mix of grunge and punk, melodies and power, atmosphere and ambience. Quite frankly, it’s one of the most exciting EPs of the year. Keep your eyes on Pave The Jungle, before we know it, they’ll be out of our reach.”- PUNKTASTIC
