Inspired by the lively traditional dance music of Europe, The Hearken Quartet are an energetic new ensemble consisting of clarinet, uilleann pipes, synthesizer and diatonic accordion. Aiming to bring new sonic flavours to the world of Euro-bal music, whether it's the chain dances of Brittany, a Scandinavian couple dance, or the bourrée of the French Auvergne, The Hearken Quartet bring tunes new and old and a rousing sound to the well-loved dance music of Western Europe and beyond.

Support from Sam Baxter & Merle Harbron
Anglo-Scottish fiddle duo Sam Baxter and Merle Harbron weave together contrapuntal musical lines inspired and improvised from traditional songs and dance music, creating contemporary, nuanced and minimalistic arrangements.
