Alphabetti Theatre's Covid-19 Update, as of May 2022
Alphabetti Theatre are continuing to put the safety of customers, staff and artists at the forefront of our policies.
Face coverings are no longer mandatory but are encouraged. We are now selling to full capacity for all performances. If you or someone you have been in close proximity with has Covid-19 symptoms please do not visit the theatre.
Alphabetti’s building is currently closed due to Covid-19 and like so many is facing significant uncertainty. We are working hard while the venue is shut and look forward to a future where we can welcome you all safely back to us.
On average, each year Alphabetti has 300 performances providing work for 2,000 artists and welcoming 13,500 audience members. 60% of our programme is part of our Pay What You Feel ticketing scheme and 39% tickets are £10 or under. With our doors closed we're losing vital income, if you could help with a donation whatever the size, we'd greatly appreciate it.
Despite the pandemic, we remain committed to our communities, audiences and artists. We launched 9 new writing micro-commissions – LISTEN UP - to increase under-represented voices in North East theatre. As well as ‘BETTi RECOMMENDS’, a weekly curated selection of free bitesize online cultural content, and free monthly online shows/performances exclusive to Alphabetti.
All our online work is free but if you can we ask that you donate to support the work we do.
