BORN LIPPY presents:
A HipHop, Grime and live instrumentation special
What would happen if three of the most hard-hitting Hiphop and Grime artists were stripped of their usual electronic beats and made to spit their finest verses, accompanied by nothing but the strings of a guitar and the bars of a xylophone?
In the unique stripped back performance, North East HipHop and Grime legends- Ken Masters, Reali-T and drop Dead Fred will perform their latest and classic tracks alongside professional guitarist -Alan Jones & professional percussionist Brendan Murphy.
A veteran musician and activist, Ken has been at the forefront of the North-East Hip-Hop scene for the last twenty-five years, championing all of its elements. Releasing a number of thought provoking tracks throughout lockdown and co-creating the Let Us Breathe community in response to the BLM movement, Ken doesn’t shy away from using HipHop as an outlet to inspire political change. He will be performing music from his last album (Cosmic Viking Wizard Funk) as well as some of his cold hard classic tracks.
From Hackney to Sunderland, Reali-T aka The Black Guy In Your Neighborhood is one of most engaging rappers in the North –East, mixing comedic rhymes and punchline driven wordplay. Reali-T will be performing tracks of his latest album – ‘Commercial Break’ .
DROP DEAD FRED

Fred is also front man and composer of festival feel-good band: Backyard Rhythm Orchestra. He has played at Glastonbury, Boomtown all over the UK festival scene. He will be mixing it up spitting bars whilst plucking strings.
